Have you already set the date and place of the celebration? If so, then it’s time to let your friends and family know when the big day will be. In this post we will clarify how and when to deliver the wedding invitations.
Save the date
One of the trends in the world of wedding invitations is to send a notification to the guests to reserve the date long before having everything resolved. This can be in the form of a calendar with the marked day or a photograph of both with the information.
Mostly, the design is done digitally and is sent informally by cell phone or email. However, we have to clarify that this is not the final invitation.
When to deliver the invitations?
If you send a “Save the date”, you can deliver the invitations 1-2 months in advance. However, you should be aware of whether some of your acquaintances must travel from a distant place. So in that case, it is advisable to send the official invitation 3 months before so you can make all necessary reservations and arrangements.
On the other hand, if they decide to have a destination wedding, the delivery must be 4 months before, because although it seems a long time, all guests should get an extra budget for accommodation, snacks, tickets, etc.
How to deliver them?
If all your relatives and friends live in the same city, it is best to take 2 weekends to visit them and deliver the invitations calmly. In addition, it will be a time to reconnect with all of them and for extra ideas.
On the contrary, if they live in distant cities, different countries or simply do not have the time to meet, they you can opt for courier services. But, you should keep in mind that this is an extra expense to add to the budget you already planned.
